African American six-footer, Abdel-Alim Kahn ran out of the Music and Dance Arts building with his small backpack on his back and his pair of dance shoes hanging over one shoulder; and headed to his parked racing bike. He removed the lock as fast as he could because he has a dinner engagement that evening wherein he has to be there an hour earlier because he was the organizer. He pedaled a few rounds when a slim and petite five-foot-two nineteen years old ballet dancer, Shin Lee Mae, embracing a pile of books, envelopes and folders in her arms with a huge black backpack hanging on her back appeared suddenly in front of him crossing his path. Lee Mae was engrossed with her deep thoughts that she just kept going straight, not looking left and right to cross the pedestrian lane. It was only when Abdel-Alim's bike's breaks screeched when Lee Mae turned to look at the direction of the sound when she just realized the coming collision. On instinct, she grasped her things tighter, turned to her left and attempted to take a pace or more away from the bike while Abdel-Alim simultaneously swerved away to the other direction. Seconds flew fast; his left hand together with the bike's left handle hit her right elbow. She let out a small shriek as she was pushed to a short pivot. All the things she was carrying flew off her arms and rained to the ground and she subsequently fell on top of a hodgepodge of her belongings. She was not hurt or dizzy, but she was a little bit in a small shock. "What was that that just happened?" she thought, "Everything went so fast!" She shook her head hard to wake herself up; looked around her and the mess under her; and she just realized that all her files were in disarray.
