My name is Baxter and I had a lady friend whom I had never known what her real name was. She said she was Luciana, but I heard people call her Marie. When I asked her what her name really was, she still said that it was Luciana. I had been seeing her ride the same bus and train I took every week day for about a couple of months before we started saying, “Hi!” to each other. One spring day, when we alighted from a public bus, the rain started pouring down real hard. I had no umbrella and she had. Without saying a word, she just pulled me to join her under her umbrella. She had her arm around my waist so that we could both fit under one umbrella. We walked fast to reach the nearest shelter. Finally, we entered a small grocery store. Half of our bodies were dripping wet. We watched the strong wind blow big drops of rain to the glass windows and doors of the grocery store. We both sighed at the same time. When we turned to look at each other, seeing how damped we were, we started laughing.
